Rosanna Cappellato earned her Ph.D. in Ecosystem Ecology/Biology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Her doctoral research focused on the interaction of tree canopy and acidic deposition. At Rhodes College she has worked with students on the ecological and economic valuation of the ecosystem services provided by Overton Park; on the quantification of carbon sequestration by the Memphis parks of the City of Memphis; and, lately, on the Assessment of potential Brownfields in a community North of Rhodes College. She teaches a variety of courses, from a senior seminar on the ecology and recent changes of the Mississippi River to an introductory course in Environmental Sciences; In the summer she offers Rhodes students an environmental field trip to Namibia to learn about wildlife conservation.
